Michael J. Kirchner
Chief Executive Officer
Michael J. Kirchner, the founder of AGIS, has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Under his direction, AGIS has grown from a one-man, one-office operation in 1978 to a growing enterprise with more than 75 employees with five locations in Michigan, Florida and Indiana.
Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Detroit.
Andria Herr
National President
As National President, Andria is responsible for directing the overall operations of the company, leading AGIS’s future growth, and for developing and managing AGIS’s sales initiatives for the company’s regional offices.
Joining AGIS in 2002 as President of the Central Florida operations, Andria has been in the insurance industry since 1987. From 1987 to 1995, she served as Senior Account Executive with CIGNA. In 1995, Andria joined UnitedHealthcare in a Senior Management capacity, serving as Vice President of Sales when UnitedHealthcare launched its first commercial products in central and north Florida.
Spending 15 years on the carrier side of the industry, Andria has a full working knowledge of underwriting formulas, plan design and experience analysis. She also has extensive experience with operational production units and call centers from her days in bank management. Since joining the AGIS team, the Orlando office has more than doubled in size.
Andria holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stetson University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools.
Michael G. Nixon
President of Michigan Operations
Mike began his insurance career in 1983 with an association group insurance consulting agency, where he specialized in professional liability and multiple employer trusts for professional associations.
In 1989, he was recruited by the organization then known as Allied Companies to join the company’s group insurance and employee benefits division as a sales consultant.
In 1994, Mike was named President of AGIS’s Michigan operations and has coordinated regional expansion initiatives for more than 10 years, including those in Indianapolis, Tampa and Jacksonville.
Mike has been a featured speaker and guest columnist for a number of professional association events and publications. He has served as a Life, Accident and Health Continuing Education Instructor in southeast Michigan and continues to serve the industry in a variety of advisory board capacities, including the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Statewide Advisory Board and the Guardian Life Insurance Company National Broker Council.

Mark C. Nixon
President of North Florida Operations
Mark began his career with AGIS in 1993, shortly after earning his degree in Business Administration (BBA) at the University of Michigan. From 1993 to 2003, Mark worked in AGIS’s Michigan office as an Account Executive. As an Account Executive, he was responsible for selling and renewing group employee benefit policies for employers. His responsibilities included reviewing claims experience, strategizing and preparing renewals for clients. He gained experience with fully insured experience-rated, self-funded and minimum-premium medical policies, and underwriting techniques. Through this combination of industry experience and financial education, Mark has a full working knowledge of underwriting formulas, plan design and experience analysis.
In 2003, Mark was promoted to President of Michigan Operations, at which point he was responsible for managing the growth of AGIS’s Michigan office and its more than 20 employees. He also continued to manage one of the agency’s largest books of clientele.
In 2006, Mark was called upon to establish AGIS’s Jacksonville, FL office, where he currently serves as President of North Florida Operations. Since his arrival, Mark has grown AGIS’ Jacksonville office to one of the most prominent group insurance agencies in northeast Florida.
Over the last decade and longer, Mark has served as AGIS’s Director of Compliance Services. In this role, he oversees the company’s ongoing efforts to help clientele comply with the numerous federal and state regulations pertaining to employee benefit plans. This effort requires Mark to research issues and train all AGIS staff on legislative changes relative to their impact on welfare benefit plans. Most recently, he has focused on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA—commonly referred to as Healthcare Reform), conducting local seminars as well as national webinars. His compliance team continues to work with two reputable law firms who specialize in employee benefits and labor law to ensure AGIS clientele are informed and equipped to meet their ongoing compliance obligations.
Recently, Mark has been a featured speaker for industry and trade associations on various topics related to health insurance and employee benefit programs, including the Volusia County Chapter of SHRM and the St. John’s River Chapter of the FICPA.
